TenwaysCom 1.1.2
================

TenwaysCom is a terminal program for ClimateSync and CoolMasterNet
controllers. Use it to type console commands and see the replies - over a
USB or RS232 lead, or over the network - and to read and write MODBUS
values over RS485 or the network.

INSTALL, UPDATE OR UNINSTALL
----------------------------
Run TenwaysCom_1.1.2_setup.exe and follow the steps. Windows asks for
administrator permission. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC",
click "More info" and then "Run anyway".

If TenwaysCom is already installed, the setup offers to update it (or to
repair it), or to uninstall it. Your settings are kept.

You can also uninstall TenwaysCom from Settings > Apps, or from the Start
menu: TenwaysCom > Uninstall TenwaysCom.

TenwaysCom needs 64-bit Windows. Java is included, so there is nothing else
to install.

USING TENWAYSCOM
----------------
Start TenwaysCom from the Start menu. Choose what to connect to by typing a
number and pressing ENTER:

1 ASCII - RS232 / USB console of a ClimateSync or CoolMasterNet, by COM port
2 ASCII - TCP the same console over the network, by IP address
3 MODBUS - RS485 read and write coils and registers (USB-RS485 adapter)
4 MODBUS - TCP the same over the network
  5 Quit

Wherever you are in TenwaysCom, you can type:

help to see what you can type at that point
menu to go back to the main menu
  quit to close TenwaysCom

A CLIMATESYNC ON A USB LEAD
---------------------------
1. Plug in the USB lead, choose 1, and type the number of the COM port from
the list (or press ENTER for the port you used last time).
2. The ClimateSync restarts when TenwaysCom connects to it. Wait until it
shows "Done" - usually within 10 seconds. Anything you type before that
is sent as soon as it is ready.
3. Type a command and press ENTER, for example ls for the zone status, or
INFO. Type help to see the list of ClimateSync commands.

If you pull the USB lead out, TenwaysCom waits for it. Plug it back in and
TenwaysCom reconnects by itself.

OVER THE NETWORK
----------------
Choose 2 for the console or 4 for MODBUS, type the device's IP address, and
press ENTER to accept the port shown (10102 for the console, 502 for
MODBUS).

MODBUS
------
After the connection details (for RS485 also the unit ID and the baud rate -
type 0 to find the baud rate automatically), pick a request from the list:
read coils, inputs or registers, or write a coil or a register. Coil and
register numbers start at 1. Choose 8 to go back to the main menu.

IF SOMETHING DOES NOT WORK
--------------------------
- The COM port is "in use by another program": close the other program that
is using it (another TenwaysCom window, a configuration tool or a serial
monitor), then press ENTER to try again.
- "No reply": check the lead, and that you chose the right COM port. On a
ClimateSync with an Extension Board, set the ClimateSync's USB/OTA switch
  to USB.
- Your COM port is not listed: plug in the lead and press ENTER to look
again. If it still does not appear, check that Windows has installed the
  driver for the USB lead.
